Waiting for the Train
Waiting for the Train
It was Thanksgiving Day 1974. After finishing a great meal and good conversation I explored the downtown area of Champaign, Illinois my hometown. The streets were nearly empty. I entered the community train station, an architectural classic with tall wooden benches that had seen countless travelers over the years. The building was empty and silent. In that moment I placed my camera on a tripod, engaged the timer, and made this self-portrait.
